WEEKEND COMEDY

Doctor Brown

The 2012 Foster’s Comedy Award winner brings his thrilling immersive clowning show to the capital. Not one for the faint-hearted, as Brown always involves the audience in a full-on performance that is disturbing but ultimately heartwarming. Political comedy fans can also catch award nominee Josie Long here until tomorrow at 8pm.

Until tomorrow, 9.30pm, Soho Theatre, W1 (020 7478 0100, sohotheatre.com)

Dan Clark

The self-mocking star of BBC3 sitcom How Not to Live Your Life has been a stand-up and a sketch performer, and in his new show he moves into musical comedy backed by a full band. If the lyrical swipes at Simon Cowell and Justin Bieber don’t get you, his singalong Bon Jovi power ballad will.

Tomorrow, Bush Hall, W12 (020 8222 6955, bushhallmusic.co.uk)

London Storytelling Festival

Narrative meets jokesmithery at this annual festival. Highlights this weekend include skilful character comedian Jo Neary (Sunday) recalling unrequited love in Youth Club and Aussie Asher Treleaven (Sunday) telling his hippyish life story. Check the website for workshops where fans can flex their own storytelling muscles.

Until Nov 18, Leicester Square Theatre, WC2 (0844 873 3433, leicestersquaretheatre.com)
