Temp agency Staffline on Wednesday hailed Home Secretary Sajid Javid’s push to convince 3.6 million EU immigrants to stay in Britain post-Brexit.

The UK firm employs thousands of temporary workers in vital UK industries such as food production and 60% are from the Continent.

Chief executive Chris Pullen said his company would help Javid — a former City banker — get the message through to EU migrants to apply for settled status.

The Home Office is producing a communication pack for UK firms to help their EU workers stay in the country. “There’s no British worker in the background being cheated out of a job. There is no alterative to the 3.6 million migrant workers doing these roles,” Pullen said.

He added that he was “increasinglty comfortable” with how the Government handled Brexit. “It’s a realistic soft Brexit, What’s important is that EU workers understand they are welcome to stay,” he said.
