Northern Petroleum confident on Dutch gas fields results

Northern Petroleum expects its production rate to rise by a third this year thanks to the first output from two gas fields in the Netherlands.

Today it forecast that production would reach more than 1,750 barrels of oil equivalent per day by the end of the year, compared with 1,320 boepd at the end of 2009.

The company also reported a pre-tax loss of 3.1 million (£2.56 million) in 2009, a year in which it made a record capital investment of 29.7 million to develop its reserves and resources.
