Mosaic ready to give shoe firm the boot

11 April 2012

The fashion group behind the Nine West, Bertie and Pied Á Terre shoe brands has today put its entire footwear empire up for sale.

Mosaic Fashions, which also owns womenswear chains Oasis, Karen Millen and Coast, is trying to ditch its struggling Shoe Studio Group business as it looks to quit the sector and focus instead on its clothing operations.

The group sells its shoe brands in 249 stores across the UK, the majority of which are concessions in department stores such as House of Fraser, Debenhams and John Lewis.

Shoe Studio is believed to have sunk into the red this year after poor trading.
