More British businesses beating recession

There was good news for UK plc today as it emerged that greater numbers of businesses were escaping the recession.

Latest figures revealed the number of firms collapsing into administration plunged by 41 per cent in the final quarter of last year compared with the same time in 2008.

Deloitte, which published the data, said lenders became more "versatile" over the year.
