Landsec, one the UK’s largest listed commercial property developers, has outlined plans to triple the size of its flexible office brand in London this year in a move that could attract tenants wanting to move away from less lengthy leases.

The FTSE 100 property giant will open three new ‘Myo’ locations totalling 139,000 square feet. The brand, which launched in 2009 and currently has 72,000 square feet in the capital, provides fully serviced offices and shared meeting and event spaces to companies looking for 10 desks or more on one to five year terms.

That is much shorter than traditional leases for a headquarters, and the expansion comes as more employers seek flexible workspace as they embrace a mixture of home and office hours.

A 45,000 square feet building at New Street Square in the City and 48,000 square feet at The Forge in Bankside will be branded as Myo, as will 46,000 square feet at One New Change by St Paul’s.

Marcus Geddes, managing director workplace at Landsec said: “With today’s commitment to triple our flexible footprint we make significant progress against our growth strategy. Looking ahead, we’re confident we’ll continue to see strong demand for our premium, flexible offer and with larger spaces available for growing teams, we look forward to welcoming an even greater variety of customers.”
