Spanish fashion giant Inditex, owner of Zara, Pull & Bear and Massimo Dutti, is set to bring its Stradivarius women’s clothing business to London, the first new brand for the world’s biggest fashion retailer to enter the country in six years.

Stradivarius, aimed at women aged 20 to 35, is in 60 countries across the globe with sales topping €1 billion (£813 million) for the first time last year, and bosses at Inditex are keen to cash in on London’s renewed fondness for spending.

A first store will be opened this year at Westfield Stratford, where Inditex has Zara, Zara Home and Bershka stores, as well as its Pull & Bear brand which launched in the UK in 2008.

Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics show that retail spending has increased for six consecutive months, with much of the growth in London, while Stradivarius’s UK website launch last year appears to have been a success.
