BMW’s new chief executive collapsed on stage earlier during a press conference.

Harald Krueger was commenting on the luxury brand’s latest models when he appeared to faint and had to be escorted off by two assistants.

The 49-year-old was at the Frankfurt International Motor Show when the incident happened.

Krueger was treated by a doctor after the “moment of dizziness,” BMW spokesman Maximilian Schoeberl said in a statement.

He added that the CEO’s condition is stable and he is recovering well.

BMW, the world’s biggest maker of luxury cars, was presenting a revamped version of its top-of-the-line 7-Series sedan at the Frankfurt show.

Krueger was making his first appearance at the biennial trade event as BMW’s chief.

He took the top post at the Munich-based car maker in May.

According to his spokesman, Krueger had not been feeling well this morning before the press conference and the incident happened after he had returned from recent trips abroad.
